An archdiocesan office designed to give direction and leadership to the full and holistic development of our growing and diverse Catholic communities within the Archdiocese of Louisville. Office of Multicultural Ministry serves to resource the Archdiocese in its effort to respond both locally and nationally in order to foster holistic development from a cultural and pastoral perspective. It encourages the full participation of the multicultural community through the implementation of the Archdiocesan Strategic Plan in collaboration with various Ethnic National Pastoral Plans. On August 1, 1988, Archbishop Thomas C. Kelly, O.P. acted on the advice of the African American Catholic Community and the Committee for African American Catholic Planning and established African American Catholic Ministries for the Archdiocese of Louisville. On July 1, 1997, AACM became part of the Office of Multicultural Ministry. The AACM works in collaboration with all offices and agencies in implementing the Archdiocesan Strategic Plan and the National Black Catholic Pastoral Plan through the following:
